Happy Reformation Day!

Romans 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Happy Reformation Day everyone! I know that people will be celebrating dead things and ungodly holidays today-probably for the sake of repetition, but that why we have to wake up and stand out so that people can see wrong instead of remain complacent. Today marks the day of Martin Luther’s 95 These being nailed to the Wittenburg church’s door. Romans 1:16-17 was the verse that shaped Martin Luther’s faith and caused him to write his 95 Theses, which was a biblical collection of contradictions against the Roman Catholic doctrine. By His commitment to standing up for God ‘s scripture, we have been blessed with the revealing of the doctrine of ‘salvation by faith alone’. After reading the Bible for Himself, Luther saw that there was no need for the Roman Catholic’s sale of indulgences (buy your way to heaven). He saw that salvation was secured by God alone at the cross, not by our works. So if there is one thing that you celebrate today, let it be our brethren in the faith who risked there lives for the sake of God’s Word to get passed down through the years, where we can now own a Bible in our very homes and read it comfortably without fear of man. God bless you today, and happy Reformation Day.
