Prophecy fulfilled.

Daniel 9:26 “And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.” Brethren, it’s amazing, just reading the book of Daniel and seeing all these prophecies coming to pass throughout the years. The above verse, the angel Gabriel is giving Daniel insight into God’s plan for His people and how history would play out. This verse reveals another point in OT scripture where the Messiah is predicted to come in a troubled time. Historically speaking, after the Roman Empire ruled over Jerusalem. Jesus Christ would come during this time, and it’s said that He would be ‘cut off and shall have nothing’. While this sounds like a defeat, does it not sound right? Jesus came as a sacrifice for all mankind who’d respond to the Gospel. He was tortured and killed so that He’d be cut off and have nothing in the natural, but spiritually speaking, He’d overcome death and ascend back to the Father as the Perfecter of our salvation through His complete work! We also see how Jerusalem, after predominantly denying Jesus as The Messiah, would ultimately fall under the control of general Titus and the rebuilt temple being torn down in AD 70. Jerusalem is now in a perpetual state of war until God’s next step in Revelation comes to pass. Stand firm in the faith! Have encouragement in God’s plan. We are in His hands! Amen.
