Surpassing glory.

2 Corinthians 3:9-10 “For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it.” Brethren, I’m just amazed by God. Seriously, He is incomprehensible. Paul gives insight on the New Covenant of the Spirit, and speaks on how it replaces the Old Covenant of the Law. The religious leaders and most likely Jews who were in the church believed that they must keep all of the Laws of God to inherit eternal life. As a result, there motives were works based and self-focused, rather than adhering to God’s Laws with love for the Father and joy in making Him glad. But that Covenant has now ceased due to Jesus Christ in stilling the new Covenant of His body and blood. The Old Covenant is intended to kill us so that we could see our depravity and need of the Messiah. The New Covenant of the Spirit gives life because it is the Spirit who now dwells within us that writes God’s law on our hearts. The glory of the Old Covenant now has no glory at all in comparison to the glory of the New Covenant. This Covenant is eternal while the Old Covenant was temporary. We now follow Jesus Christ under the New Covenant, not to earn eternal life, but because it is He who earned it for us. Delight in the Messiah, and follow hard after Him today. God bless you.
