Ezekiel 43:6-7 “While the man was standing beside me, I heard one speaking to me out of the temple, and he said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever. And the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoring and by the dead bodies of their kings at their high places,”. Brethren! This chapter is absolutely beautiful. As God departed from the temple in ch. 10, He now returns after the new covenant, and again dwells with His people. It’s a dramatic scene that is awarded us to reflect on. We see another reminder of God’s triune nature. In these opening verses, we see the glory of the LORD enter the temple (v. 4), then the Holy Spirit lifts Ezekiel up from his reverent knees and take him before God’s glory (v. 5) and then we hear a voice behind Ezekiel refer to Himself as The One to sit on the throne and dwell with His people Israel forevermore. The Word Himself (Jhn. 1:1) was in the midst of Ezekiel explaining His position of authority. We have the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Yeshua (Jesus Christ) displayed in this text! We are reminded, not only of God’s future reign from this chapter, but also the parameters of sacrificial worship unto God. Though I’m presently not too sure why there would still be sacrifices made after our sins were atoned for through Christ, I presently assume without yet much study, that God simply desires I be worshipped and adjourned in like manner. Regardless, I’ll be glad to be a simpleton before God at this point! Look to the scriptures and be encouraged that God’s nature is confirmed in it and protected by it. Jesus Christ is also confirmed here as God as well, so remember these verses when speaking to JW’s, Mormons, Mystic “christians” (Joel Osteen, TD Jakes: Modalist, etc.) or Jews. God bless you.
