God keeps His promises.

Ezekiel 39:24-25 “I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them. “Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name.” Amen, and hallelujah! Brethren, God is a Holy and Just God. He is also Perfectly Loving, and Good. We see that God’s people Israel were given over to their iniquity. This confirms the type of relationship we have with God. We are not robots and are responsible for our actions. At the same time, God in His Divine Sovereignty, has orchestrated these steps that we take to not only become transformed more into the image of Christ, but so that God could ultimately be glorified from all things. Israel did not stop being God’s chosen people when God hid His face from them. God needs to respond to sin because He is Holy and Perfect. He cannot stand before it. As a result, He his Himself from Israel, and they spent years in exile. But we then see God in verse 25 state that He will restore the fortunes of Jacob and restore the house of Israel. God follows through on His promises. We experience the consequences to our actions, but God never falls short on His part of the covenant. We have the security in Jesus Christ. We SHOULD NOT delight in the ways of the flesh when we’ve been saved from the death of our Lord. Understanding the gospel is fundamental to our dying to self and living for Christ. Be strong in the assurance of salvation. Put away the deeds of the flesh, and glorify the name of The Savior.
