Ezekiel 13:17-18 “And you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own hearts. Prophesy against them and say, Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the women who sew magic bands upon all wrists, and make veils for the heads of persons of every stature, in the hunt for souls! Will you hunt down souls belonging to my people and keep your own souls alive?” Brethren, God has Ezekiel prophecy against the false prophets of Israel. Among God’s rebuke, he speaks of the daughters of Ezekiel’s people who devise false prophecies that are for the hearts content, but have not been instituted by God Almighty. They are condemned for such things, as they sell magic wristbands and veils for others, which is having ones faith be put in items rather than the invisible God. We see this happen within Roman Catholicism as the bones of saints are reverenced or dirt from Israel is given special priority. Even within Christianity, people are making a prophet over selling oil that is deemed to have heing properties or “sowing a seed” ministries that promise to make you wealthy or healed. Such things take the focus away from God Himself, and begin to focus on THINGS, which is idolatry. Our full hope, faith and assurance should always remain and be in God Himself as the final authority. Not things made by hands, but God alone. Let your faith not be in things that sound Christian, but let your faith be in Christ Himself. Be encouraged. God bless you!
