Examine your churches

Ezekiel 10:19 “And the cherubim lifted up their wings and mounted up from the earth before my eyes as they went out, with the wheels beside them. And they stood at the entrance of the east gate of the house of the Lord, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them.” What a sad moment this is brethren. In Ezekiel 10, the glory of God departs from Israel. Ezekiel elaborately describes his vision of an angel going into the holy of Holy’s to cast burning coals from the altar throughout Israel as judgement. Ezekiel then goes on to describe the 4 cherubim in detail, the same ones we see in Ezekiel 1. Because of Israel’s consistent sin against, and lack of fear towards God, God has to respond to sin by judging it and departing from its presence. The thing is that His presence was in the house of His own people. We can equate that to God being with our churches today. Are our churches lead by reverence for the LORD and a desire to know Him more intimately or is it people-pleasing and seeker-sensitive? Is it about numbers or true believers? Are there hirelings leading the flock or genuine shepherds? These questions will reveal the heart and nature of our churches. Consider the motives of your churches and hold them accountable to God. Not from a place of anger and pride, but from a place of love and concern. God bless you.
