Do you bear the mark of Christ?

Ezekiel 9:4-5 “And the Lord said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.” And to the others he said in my hearing, “Pass through the city after him, and strike. Your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity.” Wow brethren. God was seriously pouring out His wrath on these Jewish idolaters-young, old, women and children. He had Ezekiel witness this vision where angels entered into the city of Jerusalem and slaughtered all those who participated in various abominations against God. If God is perfectly just and holy, He must respond to sin-and respond He did! The word ‘mark’ that was placed on the foreheads of those who moaned against Jerusalem’s abominations is the Hebrew word, ‘taw’ which, when written looks like an ‘X’. Many early church Christians believed that to be insight to Christ’s work on the cross, but that remains speculation. You see in these verses God’s wrath poured over the disease of sin, and God’s loving providence in keeping a remnant for Himself, so that God’s people would remain for His predestined future plans to take place. Please don’t think more of yourself than you already do. We can literally do NOTHING without something else allowing for our existence. Oxygen, T-cells, skin, saliva, etc. small examples to a humorous revelation which is YOU are not the definer of your life! God is! When you think you define your life, you fall into abominations giants God like these slain idolaters in Ezekiel 9. Remain humble and dependent upon God for all things. Amen.
