Jeremiah 52:7 “Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled and went out from the city by night by the way of a gate between the two walls, by the king’s garden, and the Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the Arabah.” Amen brethren. We find ourselves at the close of Jeremiah where the fall of Jerusalem is recounted and all of Jeremiah’s prophecies are confirmed. Reading this verse, I can’t help but take it a bit more close to home, and into our churches, our homes and our minds. I believe that, just as the Babylonians and Chaldeans breached through the military walls of Jerusalem, that there are breaches in our churches, our homes, and our own minds. These Jewish men of war fled out of the city with no intention of defending it. I wonder, are we defending our own churches from corruption and false-doctrine? What about compromise? Are we defending our homes from attacks on our marriage or family? Are you defending your mind from sin and walking righteously with the LORD? Or are you fleeing your responsibilities as these men of war did? God bless you all!
