Ishtar worship

Jeremiah 44:15-16 “Then all the men who knew that their wives had made offerings to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, all the people who lived in Pathros in the land of Egypt, answered Jeremiah: ‘As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you.” OhHh man! Brethren, after the remnant of Judah did not believe Jeremiah’s report from the LORD, they traveled to Egypt for safety, and as a result, they ALL (men, women & children) worshipped the “Queen” of Heaven. This goddess’ name was known as Ishtar, a false fertility goddess where the people commonly practiced sexual promiscuity/immorality and prostitution. This debased man-made cult, like any other, utilized the desires of men, rather than the true worship of the Only Loving God, Yahweh. Judah would later succumb to God’s judgement for such wicked idolatry, as Nebuchadnezzar, the Lord’s servant, would come to take over Egypt. This practice of worshipping a “queen” of Heaven is common today in Roman Catholicism and Santa Maria. They venerate Mary as deity, which has no biblical foundation whatsoever. The one time that men attempted to bless Mary, Jesus quickly responded in Luke 11:27, “Blessed are those rather who hear the word of God and obey it.” Jesus shot down any incling to worship anything but God Himself, as we all should be strictly reminded of. Anything short of worshipping, praying and honoring The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit as The Triune God of the universe is idolatry and hated by God. God bless you today!
