A secured covenant.

Jeremiah 33:25-26 “Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth, then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.” Brethren, God confirms again to Jeremiah that it is not man that decides who keeps or breaks a covenant with God. Why has this idea plagued Christianity so much? The idea of YOU losing your salvation? What kind of security and assurance is that? If that’s the case, why believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if I can lose my salvation? As John MacArthur says, “If you could lose your salvation, you would”. God tells Jeremiah that if His covenant could be broken, then the natural order of the sun and moon could be broken as well. God’s ultimately saying that the covenant that He has instituted is never broken with His elect, because whom God has chosen…God has chosen! When you say that you can lose your salvation, what are you really saying? Are you trying to protect God’s holiness by saying that you could fall out of covenant? If that’s the case, then we already know that! Adam and Eve did fine with that example. The covenant is not about you brethren. It is about honoring The One who secured the covenant, Jesus Christ. Live with a humble and broken heart over the grace of God given to you through Jesus Christ and God’s perfect covenant. God bless you!
