Jeremiah 17:5 “Thus says the Lord: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.” Brethren, Jeremiah spoke the Word of God against Judah stating that they had let go of their covenantal duties towards The Lord, and instead worshipped false gods of neighboring nations. Judah was looking to the strength of other countries and following after their religious beliefs instead of resting in the eternal safety and rest of a covenantal relationship with the LORD. Today, in churches or simply in a believers life, they’ll look towards man for security or to fulfill their purposes. What I mean is sometimes our flesh is so fixated on tangible relationships, that we will desire more so to please other people or find our strength in them. That’s what God spoke against when He spoke against Judah. There are people-pleasers who care more about their image than God’s image. Men on the pulpit who have no business being there because there concern is themselves and the perceptions of other people towards him. Today, seek your strength in Yahweh. He plants you near streams of flowing water and you will always yield fruit in season. The Lord will always provide for your building up in righteousness. Care more about God being glorified, instead of man’s ungodly perceptions of you. God bless you.
