Matthew 14:16-20 “But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” And he said, “Bring them here to me.” Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over.” Amen, our LORD is able to give far more exceedingly and abundantly. The 5,000 were men, women and children who were following Jesus for His signs and wonders. Though, I’m sure some from that crowd later did accept the LORD as their Savior later on, the lesson was for the disciples. Notice how there were 12 baskets of the broken pieces that remained, most likely as a reminder to the disciples as to who Jesus was. He was God. At this point they were struggling to believe that He truly was the Son of God. We have that trouble too int head moments. When we lack provisions-food, finances for the week, a trying day at work. We forget God provides for us. Today, remember who He is. Jesus Christ is LORD and He will provide for our every step. God bless you.
